II TECHNICAL SEMINAR FOR STUDENTS OF THE AGROFORESTRY TRAINING AND EXPERIMENTATION CENTRE (CFEA) OF LOURIZÁN (PONTEVEDRA)

After the development on 21 October 2021 of the 1st Technical Seminar at the CFEA for students from the 2nd year of the Higher Cycle of Forestry and Natural Environment Management and the 2nd year of the Intermediate Cycle of Exploitation and Conservation of the Natural Environment, in this 2nd Seminar, held on 10 November 2021, the presentations were aimed at the 1st year of the Higher Cycle of Forestry and Natural Environment Management, with a total of 20 students attending, in addition to the teaching staff of the centre.

Once the audiovisual of the project had been projected as an introduction, Javier Ferreiro, from IBADER, presented the improvement and sustainable management of river corridors as a strategy to halt the loss of biodiversity.

Then, Miguel Fernández, from the Mariñas Coruñesas Biosphere Reserve, reviewed the dissemination and awareness-raising activities carried out by LIFE Fluvial to date. Within these activities, special attention was paid to the environmental volunteering workshops carried out, which were followed with great interest by the attendees, both with regard to their methodology and the requirements when applying for permits.

At the end of the seminar, attendees were presented with LIFE Fluvial information material.

To end the day, there was a visit to the forest production nurseries in the CFEA facilities, accompanied by the teacher Mª del Carmen Alfonso Leiro, offering future opportunities for collaboration from the centre for activities related to the conservation of the natural environment.
