In 08/09/2022 an exchange of good practices took place between the projects LIFE FLUVIAL (LIFE16 NAT/ES/000771) y ALNUS TAEJO (LIFE20 NAT/ES/000021), within the geobotanical excursion to the ZEC Serra da Gardunha (PTCON0028), in XII Encuentro Internacional de Fitosociología (https://encontrointernphyt.wixsite.com/eif2022) organised by PHYTOS – Asociación Portuguesa de Ciencias de la Vegetación.

INTERREG FLEURS LOCALES

Representatives of LIFE Fluvial and Semillas Silvestres (partner company of INTERREG SUDOE Fleurs Locales) met in Gijón, on September 7, to exchange experiences learned in the development of the respective projects. LIFE Fluvial promotes the use of native cuttings and seeds in restoration tasks and Semillas Silvestres is specialized in native seed production technology and generates knowledge on the uses of Iberian and wild plant genetic resources..

LIFE INVASAQUA

LIFE FLUVIAL project attended the Special Symposium INVASAQUA Networking, which took place at the IX Iberian Congress of Ichthyology (SIBIC) in 2022, held in Porto (Portugal). The associated beneficiaries IBADER-USC and ISAULisboa attended the event, providing the main results of the project in terms of elimination and control of flora IAS in Natura 2000 river corridors

LIFE FLUVIAL’s contribution to the event was of great interest, completing the actions on fauna IAS contributed by the rest of the projects that participated:

LIFE IP PAF-WILD ATLANTIC NATURE

Between May 26 and 29, the associated beneficiary IBADER has carried out technical visits to 4 LIFE projects that are carried out in Ireland, and that are coordinated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH. In the framework of this vita, IBADER members visited the LIFE18 IPE/IE/000002 “LIFE IP PAF-WILD ATLANTIC NATURE” project, attended the annual monitoring visit and visited the project locations, as well as how to exchange with the other partners involved in the project: Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM); Bord na Móna; Teagasc; Failté Ireland; Raidio Teilifis Eireann (RTÉ); The Heritage Council; Northern & Western Regional Assembly (NWRA ); Coillte Nature

PROYECTO POSEUR

In the framework of the POSEUR project and in collaboration with the Municipality of Ponte de Lima, the Escola Superior Agraria do Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra and the Centro de Ecologia Funcional/Universidade de Coimbra, a volunteer day for the control and eradication of invasive species in Ponte de Lima took place.

NETWORKING IN  LIMNOLOGÍA AIL 2020 CONGRESS

LIFE Fluvial participated in the XX CONGRESS OF THE IBERIAN LIMNOLOGY ASSOCIATION (AIL-2020) which was held in conjunction with the III IBERO-AMERICAN LIMNOLOGY CONGRESS (CIL-2020). The event was held virtually on 26-29 October under the theme “Limnology in a changing world”.  In this congress there was a workshop dedicated to LIFE projects in which participated among others the LIFE INVASAQUA and LIFE RIPISILVANATURA projects.
